New Zealand

Life in Aotearoa - New Zealand is very fascinating with tons of history following. New Zealand is multi cultured but the main language brought up on New Zealand is Maori/english. Fun fact New Zealand has the tallest stable standing tower, basically if you were up in the sky tower you would have the most beautiful view ever. New Zealand has phenomenal wine, sheep and amazing sport players,
second fun fact New Zealand is made up of two islands but even though New Zealand is made up of two simple destructive islands New Zealand is the smallest country in the world with many fruits, native animals, native trees. New Zealand has history behind the fern, moa, kiwi (Bird) and it's ancestors.

Tundra letter

Talofa Lava brother , I have had a wonderful trip to Tundra, Tundra is covered with tons of snow for much of the year. We will wait until summer brings a burst of wildflowers. I explored some wonderful and beautiful animals that live here such as mountain goats, sheep and marmots. My experience adventuring the place was phenomenal . I really hope I get to visit Tundra to discover other things that we missed out this time.

Logging in New Zealand

People collect wood to build houses, chairs and many more items you can think of. I think cutting down trees every day could be a problem for humans and animals.

  • If humans as us continue this act we all will not be provided with fresh air that means every animal and every human will slowly suffer because we have no fresh air.

  • If there is minus the trees than usual, lovely animals underneath and above would have to find another area surrounded with trees because the air around them is not breathable.

WWF - An endangered seal species

WWF is trying to save a endangered species, it's a Saimaa ringed seal .In the whole entire world there are about  360 individuals.  The seal gives birth in a lair which they dig in a snowbank, if there aren't any snowbanks the pupps will be born on a open ice platform that means they will have no protection from predators the cold as well as human disturbance nearly up to half of the pups could die. The humans now create snowbanks for the endangered specie of seals but also at the same exact time they would also have to have a long term plan, which includes taking action of climate change.

A loyal beast (description)

Lucius Is my loyal beast very frightening at times. Lucius is mysterious inside and out curios of others, Lucius has wolf ears with a fluffy tail a body coloured black and grey with a moon symbol on the back of his head, four steady legs, with claws as sharp as metal. He smells amazing, he would attack if you are being suspicious or if someone hurts me. Lucius is loyal to only people who have helped him with a rough past and those he knows well enough that they won't betray him. Lucius lingers through the night without a sound he hides behind a tree to make sure he isn't noticed then creeps up on his prey with a surprise attack from behind. Lucius is loyal just make sure you get to know him before you try anything he hasn't seen before.

Wired and Wonderful

Today I will show you how to work out a simple maths problem
To work this out you purely have to multiply 365 x 3.
Ok so

You will x's

300 x 3 = X    -     300 x 3 =900
60 x 3 = X      -     60 x 3 = 180
5 x 3 = X         -    5 x 3   = 15

900 + 180 = X     -   900 + 180 = 1080
1080 + 15 = X  -   1080 + 15  1095

consequently. the answer is 1095ml

Hopefully this had helped you figure out this problem

New Zealand has many plants and trees but out of many trees and plants in New Zealand
there is just this one plant called the fern only half of the sport teams that support New Zealand have fern in there name and on there uniform.

My favorite team would be the Black Ferns because I really love rugby and it's also a womens team. This is the reason why I love the Black ferns but as always I will still love all of New Zealand's sport teams

Tāne Mahuta

I would someday love to visit Tāne Mahuta because there is a lot of history behind one of the oldest and tallest trees on earth. Tāne Mahuta separator of heaven and earth. The Māori story of creation goes back to Ranginui 'Sky Father" and Papatuanuku 'Earth Mother'. Towering Tane Mahuta in the Waipoua Forest of Northland  is the most famous of New Zealand's kauri tree specimens.

My Hometown!

For me what makes my hometown so special is that, the tenes town of Auckland still retains the world record for the tallest freestanding complex building in the southern hemisphere. A second reason why it's special to me is because it's where my high spirited family and friends tend to remain if they weren't in existence I would have no idea who I would become. My family and friends support my every choice I make which put me in the right direction. I am grateful that they are here today cause I get to participate in amazing events.I am proud to be living in Auckland.

Top 3 fun facts about NZ

                                                          Top 3 fun facts
My very first fun fact about New Zealand is that, Gisborne is the first city in the world to be exposed by the sun. Gisborne is only 496.3 kilometres away  from the sun, The reason why I chose this as my first verse is because, there are only 4416 cities and 195 countries in the world and out of all the countries and cities in the world, the sun is first exposed to Gisborne, New Zealand that's amazing!

In 1645, Dutch cartographers renamed the land Nova Zeelandia after the Dutch province of Zeeland. British explorer James Cook subsequently anglicised the name to New Zealand. Aotearoa translated as "land of the long white cloud" is the current Māori name for New Zealand.

Last but not least New Zealand is one out of  three countries in the world that has two official national anthems of equal standing.  The first is God Save the Queen and the other is God Defend New Zealand.

Festive animation

Amazing art that took me around the world in my imagination

Etching: art

Around a week ago my class and I made a different type of art, this style of art is called etching. I made this art with paint,an popsicle stick and a piece of paper. My theme was walking off to a sunset after a busy week. I love doing sunsets because it reminds me of a beautiful day in opotiki where you just sit on a seat and watch the birds fly past with the calm ocean. I had divided my page into three oldly wired shapes that were not the same size at all my colours that I painted with were red, orange and yellow the three fire colours for the first coat. I chose these three colours because it has a beautiful vibe to a sunset, I dried the first coat of thick paint and chose three different colours gold, green and yellow. I quickly applied the three different colours of wet paint and drew in my the sunset detail very carefully so it would not be messy. I successfully finished after one hour  in doing this art I am proud of what I have done and would gladly do it again because this has been a very fun experience.

Hip-Hop dance lesson 2

Today my class and I had gone to a dance lesson being taught by a wonderful woman Izzy. My class and I did a warm up so that during the class we wouldn’t get a  stitch, we had finished the warm up and played a dance game rock, paper, scissors. The game was all about battling against each other to see who would take the victory, a few minutes passed by and it was time to do a follow the leader.

There were four different teams but two of the four teams were sitting down, I felt amazing I was happy and joyful when I listened to the music and when I began to dance. The lesson was coming to a end so Izzy decided  to teach the class and I tutting, basically she taught us different hand movements. We left the dance lesson thanking Izzy for another wonderful week of dancing.

Stavros Kyriakides creates beautiful sculptures, you will be able to find his popular creations in
Wellington on the south coast. Stavros Kyriakides has been fascinated for the past four years in
making unique sculptures, his work is unique because he uses no glue, nails, wires or concrete
because he relies on physics to be able to keep his sculptures together. Opinions differ on
Stavros Kyriakides because everyone has something different to say about his artwork .

Prototec T4W1

Today I did my first basic facts assessment for term 4. I am not
amazed with my score but it does show a fair score and it shows that I have to
work harder on my percentages, fractions and the factors.
I will practice harder and push myself to the goal I had set for myself earlier
in the year, I expect myself to be on stage 8 at the end of the year
I wish to get my hopes up and claim a better score on stage 7 in the future
maths test I do.

Wonderful birthday

During the holidays we celebrated a lovely birthday party for my mums
glorious friend. We had the party at her house,  we kept the birthday party
as a surprise because she dislikes surprises that’s why we kept it as a secret.

First, I stepped into the kitchen to help my mum prepare all of the
delicious food.  The food was all marinated, mixed and combined
together and it was ready to cook.

Next, my mum and I baked, cooked and fried all of the food for at
least a couple of hours because we had a large amount of food to cook.
We cooked everything as my mum and I left the food to cool down on the table.

Then, our whanau helped to set up the tables and chairs, we had set out all
of the kai like pork, steak, salad, bacon & egg pie, doughnuts and many many
more items. Our whanau surprised my mums friend with a big “SURPRISE”
they had said. The food was finally ready to eat it had taken a very very long time
to cook everything at once, the pleasant food smelt amazing. Our family started
taking pictures and no one ate it until they posted it on facebook.

Finally, we cleaned inside and out to make sure my mums friends place was
spotless because it was her birthday and she needed a break from cleaning
something that isn’t her mess.

I enjoyed baking with my mum because she is the best baker I’ve ever known,
I wish my family could do this again in the upcoming year because I would
like to surprise her again even though she doesn't like it.

How much Waste can be Composted.

This term my group of Calais, Tatai, Syriah and myself made this project.
Our inquiry investigation question was how much of our waste can be
composted.First, we used the internet to research our topic.
Then we constructed this project. I did making the world and painting the box.
They did making the mountain full of paper and the facts.
We used a box, paper and metal. The easiest thing to do was making the mountain
and painting the box. The most difficult thing to do was writing down all of the
facts. In doing this, this has helped me want to learn more about composting
and worm farming. The next Project i’ll like to do is how to compost in
winter.

Hot and Cold colours

This art was inspired by Karl Apple. I have been studying lines, bright colours and hot/cold colours, I used the lines to make a tessellation pattern that we were learning in class. The hot/cold colours in my art were used for the (Tui), I then used cold colours both purple and blue to make the background and bird the bird stand out. I would very much so like to do this art aging because i'm very interested in it.
